About The Pacer Page

History

The Pacer Page was started innocently enough in May 1995, as a single page tribute to my first car, my 1975 AMC Pacer. The site has grown and taken on many forms throughout the years, and in May 2000, amcpacer.com was launched. It has been featured on many web sites and in many print publications, giving our Pacers well-deserved fame long after most critics had completely forgotten about the car.

If you want to know more about me and my Pacer "obsession", please visit Jeni's Story.

Many, many people have helped me out and inspired me in the creation and continual maintenance of this page. If I have forgotten to mention you, please contact me and appropriately yell at me!

My grandparents
...who gave me my 1975 Pacer in the first place and consequently started this whole ordeal! My grandpa addresses every letter he sends to me, "Jeni with the Pacer".

Jim Stone
...whose AMX Files web site inspired me to create The Pacer Page in the spring of 1995.

Frank and Elaine Wrenick
...who founded the AMC Pacer Club and the wonderful newsletter that comes along with membership. Thanks also for all the great support they've given me throughout the years.

Glen Hoag
...who drove Pacer #1 out of my life, but not out of my heart!

My dad
...for not getting too angry about all the oil, fluids, etc. that Pacer #1 dripped on his driveway through the years it sat there.

My college friend, Ashley
...to whom my name was not "Jeni," but "Pacer".

Steve and Michelle Varga
...who sold me my long sought after Pacer #2.

Glenn and Valerie Roberts
...who unexpectedly enticed me with what became my Pacer #3.

My husband, Steve
...who is not a Pacer enthusiast, and knew full well what he was getting himself into when he married me, but who more than tolerates my quirky hobby.

Everyone
...who's written me since May 1995, and everyone who will write me in the future. I love hearing your Pacer stories! Thanks so much for sharing your memories.

Thank you all!
